	NIGEL MOTYER Nigel Motyer is a seasoned award-winning underwater photographer based in Dublin, Ireland, whose passion for capturing the beauty of the underwater world has spanned over three decades. Despite Ireland being a lesser-known dive destination, Nigel's dedication to exploring its waters has unveiled a treasure trove of remarkable images, showcasing the region's unique marine life and diverse underwater landscapes. Through years of diving in the cold waters of Ireland, Nigel has honed his skills in capturing the elusive beauty of big animals and the intricate details of macro subjects amidst challenging conditions. His portfolio boasts stunning encounters with Ireland's marine inhabitants, including the rare basking shark, whose presence adds to the region's rich biodiversity. Nigel's adventurous spirit has led him to a host of iconic dive destinations worldwide, from the Galápagos Islands to the shores of Norway, where he braved the cold waters for unforgettable encounters with orcas hunting the migrating herring schools in the far north. His travels have not only expanded his photographic repertoire but also enriched his appreciation for the marvels of the underwater realm. Nigel’s work has been widely published in books and magazines with his work featuring in many prestigious publications like National Geographic Magazine, more recently Nigel has used his photography to create illustrated lessons in marine biodiversity which are delivered to Irish school children. He also created an Underwater Photography course for the Irish Underwater Council helping to develop the next generation of underwater photographers. Combining his frequent international expeditions with regular dives in his home waters in Ireland, Nigel has curated a diverse collection of images, ranging from captivating shots of majestic sharks to intimate portrayals of marine life in its natural habitat. His dedication to underwater photography has earned him an international reputation as an underwater photographer, inspiring fellow enthusiasts to explore the hidden wonders beneath the waves.
